Julie Emmett is the Senior Director, Retail Partnerships for the Plant Based Foods Association. Julie develops opportunities for both member companies and retailers to achieve their plant-based foods sales goals through education and marketing initiatives.
Before joining PBFA, Julie spent six years at SPINS with Albertsons Companies in product development for O Organics and Open Nature, leveraging her marketing expertise to expand the brand portfolios through applying innovation, robust data analytics and studying retail trends. After a successful career helping to grow their private label business, Julie now supports Albertsons and many other US retailers, grow their plant-based foods portfolios.
Last year, Julie created and led PBFA’s pilot shopper marketing campaign with Lucky Supermarkets, a fully-integrated event creating awareness and increased sales for Lucky’s and over 20 member companies.
Julie has spent her entire career within the retail food industry in multiple capacities and earned her Master in Business Administration at St. Mary’s College and is certified in nutrition education.
Julie is a long-term volunteer at the Valley Humane Society and has served as the Wellness Chair for her city’s school district.
Julie is passionate about understanding what is driving growth at retail, dedicating significant time studying growth drivers and knows plant-based foods is clearly at the epicenter of growth.
